We recommend booking campsites during your stay. Please note that camping on private land without the landowner’s permission is against the Highway Code.

✅ Hire Criteria
• Age: 25 years or older
• Driving Experience: Minimum of 2 years with a full UK or EU licence
• Driving Record:
• Up to two 3-point convictions (e.g., 2x SP30s) are acceptable without referral.
• Single convictions totaling 6 points or more require referral.
• Claims: No more than one fault or outstanding incident/claim in the last three years

We travelled to the Isle of Skye where most roads are single track and uneven but it wasn’t a problem in the versatile Defender which was ideal for the task. Despite being April with some questionable weather conditions, the TentBox was warm, dry and provided a decent base whilst on the trip. The rear of the vehicle is also spacious for carrying belongings or in our case and Spaniel who was comfortable in the back and travelled well. The service provided by the company was first class - Cassie was great to deal with, responsive and genuinely helpful at making things happen which made our first experience of such a trip an absolute breeze. I would highly recommend the vehicle and company to anyone considering a road trip this summer. Thank you”

The Landrover with the roof tent allowed my then partner (now after this trip my fiance:D) to explore the Great Glen and have an easy peasy camping experience.
The roof tent takes literally 2 minutes to set-up, comes with a mattress, sleeping bags and cushions and is really comfy to sleep in. There are also camping chairs, a table, cooker and crockery provided, everything you need to cook some small meals at the campsite which we took advantage of.
Since we were already travelling we had some issues getting hold of the documents for the insurance but Cassie was very patient with us and even met us at Inverness train station.
All in all a great experience!!! :)

Cassie was so helpful and accommodating and helped with everything we were too pushed to sort out, as our trip was very last minute, thank you so much. We can’t recommend Bonnie Breaks enough. The ease of contact, the facilities of and in the Defender, the value for money and Cassie’s mum and dad’s Airbnb for a great nights sleep at the end of our journey (thanks Alan for the very early breakfast and the lift to the bus stop) If you’ve even got the slightest inclination to do this trip you’ll be very hard pushed to find a company that will give you as much!!Thanks again to you all. We hired the defender for a week for our
NC500 road trip. It was a great way to see the spectacular scenery on the way. We used the tent box on a couple of occasions which is a brilliant way to camp. It was easy to pop up and easily accessible.
Communication with Cassie was excellent and I would definitely recommend staying in her parents bnb before hand. They are a lovely family and very welcoming.

FAQ
How long in advance do I need to book a vehicle?
You are able to make a booking up until the evening before you would like to use one of our vehicles this will be dependent on availability.
What are the pick-up times for your vehicles and where can we collect from?
Pick up time is usually between 15.00-16.00 and this can be from our depot in Avoch on the Black Isle. However depending on availability we may be able to do an earlier or later pick up and also we may be able to meet at another location ie train station, airport etc.
Can I take my dog?
We are are pet friendly however we ask that pets are not taken into the rooftop tent. There is space to the rear of the vehicle where a dog could stay🐶😊
Can more than one person be insured to drive?
Absolutely! As long as the additional drivers meet our criteria we are able to insure multiple drivers to drive our vehicles we just need to know before hire takes place.
